This Privacy Policy explains how Scholar Genie, an Arkansas-based company (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our platform. By using Scholar Genie, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
• Account Information: email address and authentication data
• User Content: uploaded files, prompts, and study materials
• Usage Data: interactions, features used, and activity
• Device Data: IP address, browser, and device type
• Payment Data: securely handled by Stripe (we do not store card details)
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to:
• Provide AI-powered features (tutor, summaries, flashcards, exams, Writing Coach)
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Improve performance and user experience
• Detect fraud, abuse, or misuse
• Communicate updates and support responses
3. AI & Data Processing
Your inputs may be processed by AI systems to generate responses. We use trusted providers (such as OpenAI) to power these features.
We do not use your personal data to train proprietary models unless explicitly stated.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted providers:
• Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
• Stripe (payments)
• OpenAI (AI processing)
• Cloudflare Turnstile (bot detection and security)
• TikTok (advertising measurement — see Section 5)
These services process data under their own privacy policies.
5. Advertising & Conversion Measurement
We use the TikTok Pixel and TikTok Events API to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to optimize ad delivery.
When you interact with our site, we may share the following with TikTok:
• Pages you view, buttons you click, and conversion events (signup, checkout, subscription)
• Hashed (SHA-256) identifiers such as your email address, our internal user ID, and (where available) phone number — TikTok cannot read the original values from the hash
• Standard technical data (IP address, user-agent, referrer, TikTok click identifiers from the URL)
• The dollar value and currency of completed purchases
TikTok uses this data to attribute ad clicks to conversions, build lookalike audiences for ad targeting, and improve campaign performance. TikTok's Automatic Advanced Matching (AAM) feature may also automatically detect identifiers in form fields you submit to us and hash them client-side before sending them to TikTok.

6. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies to:
• Maintain login sessions

• Measure the effectiveness of advertising (TikTok Pixel — see Section 5)
